Type of Funds to Show in US Student Visa Interview ?

Proof of Funds



Prospective F-1 Visa Indian student at visa interview is required to demonstrate Proof of Availability of Funds.

O- Visa Officer at US Embassy need to be sure that the student can live in the US and pay his tuition fees and meet living expenses mentioned in I-20, without working.

O- Availability of Funds can be demonstrated either by parent’s sponsorship or by the student directly with supporting proofs. 

O- All funds must be readily accessible and liquid, such as-
>>Bank Savings Accounts
>>Bank Fixed deposits
>>Minimum education loan.
>>Government Bonds and Units.
>>Provident fund amount with proofs.
>>Surrender Values of Insurance Policies.

O- Remember Investments, Shares with fluctuating values are generally not recommended as viable proof of funds.

O- Gold is also not recommended for visa unless supported by actual purchase proofs*.
