Here is a brief guide to
preparation for IELTS and other exams including SAT, GRE, etc.
1. Always have a Target
Score and
prepare your own plan accordingly.
2. Be
careful in the first portion of every section. Successful answers to the
questions early in your exam (first 5 questions) will lead to higher scores.
3. Use
the process of elimination to cross out wrong answers.
4.
Double check your work and answer before you click on the screen
bubble.
5. You
cannot skip any question and you cannot go back after you've answered a
question.
6. Answer
every question, making educated guess if you have to. Just try to eliminate one
or more choices before guessing.
7. Don't
spend too much time on any one question. You should spend only seconds on the
easiest questions, and hesitate to spend more than 1-2 minutes on even the
hardest ones.
8. Bring
a watch to the test center. There may not be a working clock.
9. Don't bring a calculator or any Electronic devices since you're
not allowed to use them.
10. Bring a couple of IDs to the test
center. Make sure at least one of the pictures actually looks like you. Also
bring confirmation letter from the Educational Testing Service.
11. Read the words in the question
carefully. Be sure to “answer all the questions”.
12. ETS Examinations (GRE & TOEFL)
will allow you to send score reports to 4 Universities, Free of Cost. Have
knowledge of few Universities, suitable to your score.
